All of our Summer Reading programs will be held at the library for free, but some require registration! Take a look below for all of our programs this summer, from "sign up needed" to "drop-in whenever you like" programs. If you have further questions, make sure to follow us on social media! We give more information closer to program dates on our Facebook (Oconto Falls Community Library) and Instagram (@ocflibrary)
Programs for Infant - 4k
Playgroup
Every Monday morning at 10:30am in the Meeting Room, we have several toy stations set up for little kids to play with and interact with other kids and families. This program is wonderful for getting to meet other families in the community and to socialize in a comfortable, casual setting. Miss Allison reads a short story during a provided snack time and we all clean up together! Once everyone leaves, the toys are sanitized to get ready for next week. Guardian attendance required.
Storytime
Every Tuesday morning at 10:30am in the Children's Corner, we have our Storytime Program! More structured than our Playgroup on Mondays, Miss Allison hosts fun, engaging songs, a reading with multiple books, and a themed craft! Themes change weekly, so keep an eye on our socials for updates. No sitting still required! The goal of Storytime is to introduce young children to hearing other people's voices, meeting other children, and to practice school-ready skills while still having their parents/guardians around for support and care. Guardian attendance required.
Special Storytimes
We do have some exciting guests for our Summer Storytimes this year! Each one will be a little different but will still have a similar structure. Guardian attendance required.
Colleen Wicker - Author Reading
Starting off our Summer, we have local author Colleen Wicker hosting our Storytime on June 11th at 10:30am. She will be reading Puff the Magic Dragon with a song and her own book Tubsy's First Winter, which is already in our collection under our Nature Picture Books. Miss Allison will then host a dragon craft.
